Some nice mountain work there Warlock - done my fair share on and off rope over the years and you never lose the hunger for that particular level of adrenaline.

My out of game interests tend towards camouflage and people taking pot shots at me in foreign countries :-)

Don't bother asking - I won't answer.

I'm not ignorant, just finding being quiet stops me getting a bollocking ;-)

EGR seems to works fine...a specialist diagnosed this with his laptop 4 years ago...but he told me the turbine has negative deviation. Then was the probl. because I had no power engine and max speed when that light was on it was 80 km/h. He told me approximately 600E are required for repair / replacement turbine parts....But I was lucky, before to go with my car in service, I took a look under the hood and I found a short hose which connect I guess the EGR with air filter, with 2 centimeter hole in it...The problem was caused by the protective engine cover due vibrations. I used a withstand temperature plastic tape to fix the hose and all was ok... Turbine works like a dream, again speed and power and ofcource no service.
Xac, litres / 100km - such a weird unit? U mean my car fuel consumption is to lower?...I told 5,8-6,1 l/100km with light on, but pls see the video, made today, in 16 km, no traffic jam, fuel consumption was 5-5,2 %. During the summer this number is lower due temperature...A diesel engine has optimal consumes only when the temperature reaches 90 C, but in winter, driving only 15 km barely has time to reach this temperature.

Glad it was something simple and easy to fix :D

I said "weird units" because in the UK we still think in terms of "miles per gallon" and that is a UK Imperial gallon (4.54 litres, US gallons are smaller, about 3.75 litres) even though you can only buy fuel here in litres...so my little hatchback will do 50 to 55 miles per gallon, whereas my "Hellbender" will only do 25 to 30 mpg if I am very careful.

But anyway, if I did work in litres I would think of "how many km per litre of fuel?" However, the unit instead is "litres per 100km" which to me seems a strange way of doing things... ;)

Tank capacity is 55 L plus another 7 L reserve into another tank. This means I can travel a distance 1.200 Km ( 745.64 miles ) , consuming all 62 L.
But I never did that test because I refill the tank all the time I have some money... Max distance with no refuel was 850 km, but I remember that time, the tank wasn't empty.
Xac, what car do u have?

I've got 3 cars, nothing special. A small diesel hatchback, an ancient people carrier and my hobby car, a 20 year old Hellbender :D

So one of the things that keeps me busy when not playing UT is maintaining them ;)

My Saturday afternoon was spent trying to sort the brakes out on the people carrier. The ABS had been kicking in when it shouldn't. The old discs were badly corroded anyway, so the first part of the investigation was to replace those along with a new set of pads. This improved the brakes, but still had the ABS playing up. At least changing the discs and pads revealed why...the reluctor rings on both drive shafts were cracked. At least it's not the ABS sensors, they are about 50 Euros each, reluctor rings I just ordered off of eBay for about 2 Euros each. But...it's going to mean taking the hubs apart to get the driveshafts out so I can fit the rings, which will be a pain.

That's the calliper tied out of the way...also got to make sure the hub flange for the disc is nice and clean to prevent run out problems with the new disc...

New discs and pads fitted, looking nice and shiney :)

Oh no, cracked ABS reluctor rings :(

Thx Gaffy, I appreciate that you like my iguana. Sometimes it's like a puppy chasing me around the house to see what I do and the moment is find me, Misha climbing on me. It's so funny.

Xac, u are great man if u know how to fix the car.
Is weird how the ABS was struck and cracked...I saw how it look like ur ABS and I guess it is an old car, right?

I have a dream now to buy a van and to transform it into a motor home. Will be a lot of work, but I can't afford to buy a real motor home (Campers). Do u know Volkswagen California?

I have not so much money, so I will buy a van, and I will do all I can to transform it into a good car to travelling everywhere I want. What do u say, this is possible? Or it is a stupid idea?
I don't need to much, I need to install a big bed, some chairs, a table, a rack for my bikes, some battery for power supply, so on...
I will use that van CoW made till I will buy Leisure Travel Vans Serenity, which costs only.... $131,879. So far so good, already I have some of the money gathered for the car, I still needful only difference, $131,800. It's all to be optimistic...

I like to do what I can...it gets more difficult as newer cars get more and more electronic stuff which you need to plug in a laptop to fix...require specialised tools or they just do not give you enough space to reach things. The people carrier is 15 years old and is almost dead with around 230,000 km on the clock...but I try to keep it going. It has a number of advantages over newer cars.

I suppose the metal of the ABS ring must be a special steel to distribute the magnetic field for the rotation sensor, so maybe it fatigues over time due to differential expansion and contraction of the ring relative to the driveshaft due to heat from the brakes...just a theory ;)

The campers in the videos are awesome, but way too expensive. Converting a van into a camper is not a bad idea. It's something I've often thought about. There are companies in the UK that will do a conversion of a van for you. Be careful though if you do it yourself and put a cooker in it, make sure it is well vented for carbon monoxide...maybe fit a CO sensor too. My people carrier is like a van, sliding doors and you can take all the seats out. When I go camping, while everyone else is in the tent, I have my nice warm cosy mattress in the van :D

I'm not sure if ur ABS is made by special steel to distribute the magnetic field for the rotation sensor. But u can read on the link below more about this and I'm sure u will understend more then I did.
https://www.trwaftermarket.com/us/Impor ... S-Sensors/

U told me Converting a van into a camper is not a bad idea... That is great. I will buy a empty van and I will try to transform something like this, only for 2 persons.

http://www.campanda.de/wohnmobil/das-typ-5-wohnmobil-78626520.html

Thx for ur good advice, but I don't need cooker in it. I have my own way to prepare food, not in my car...Where I will go will be into remote places, the places where I can start a fire outside to make food. This is what I like to do. Trust me, is amazing to prepare mushrooms or a fish caught on a mountain river, only on a hot stone who was on fire... I don't need to much comfort. I was all my life into crowded town, I only used dishes and crockery, I only used the noisy kitchen appliances....But sometimes I need to escape and I want to be close to nature, to forget the city, the noise, the problems, so on. Clean water, a sharp knife, a shelter, patience is all I need. I'm crazy, or u understand what i mean??? Do you know the feeling your ears hurts because is so quiet? A normal person can't resist more than 2 days in total silence. But what about 5 days?

To keep me warm into could season I will try to install a parking heaters, I hope this is the right name, or to use my pro sleeping bag made for extreme temperature ( -29C confort / -32 Extreme).
Can u attach some pictures with ur car during the camping?
