Hi all!
CEONSS has been run with more or less the same map roster for several years by now. Thus I think it's time to try something else.
I've observed players' joining and leaving behaviours very carefully over the past months. My impression was that:
- players preferring NV-maps leave when tank-maps are on
- people liking modded vehicles get bored by maps with stock vehicles
- oldschool-ONS-players leave or don't even join at all anymore because of the maps with modded vehicles.
The map roster has always been just a compromise between NV-maps, maps with stock vehicles and such with modded vecs. We all know that a compromise will never be a way to please all.
That's why I've seperated the maps and started a second server: The main ONS-server now provides maps with stock vehicles only*, all of the maps with modded vehicles and big tanks moved onto the 2nd server, the Tankhouse: 213.163.83.225:7777
Be aware, it's just an experiment. Just trying to provide a home for both sorts of players.
Let's see if it works. If not, the servers will be merged again.
*no rule without exception: Tyrant is still on the main server. I consider it not tanky enough for the Tankhouse

Re: Split
Does CEONSS have this regular player base to get 64 players full?
Also, is it a problem with modded vehicles in general or just with their pace of action? Because I would rather make a split by )o(-ish vehicles rather than by "modded" in general, as there can also be modded vehicles that are balanced for the stock vehicles.

Dunno. My guess is that there's quite a number of old ONS-ers not liking modded vecs at all. Just a guess.Crusha K. Very bad thing you do here laboRHEinz. I'm like modded vecs, this is a reason why I move to CEONSS from russian servers. But now you kicked me out (and some other players I guess). At least today I'll go play to another server, because that Tankhouse is empty, nobody know about it. Maybe you will make at least notification message/window what describes situation, showing to all players that connect CEONSS?

Re: Split
Could be a good move Heinz
It works well over at Omnipotents, the "deathmatch" style folks that dislike tanks have their favorites together,
and the "vehicles" folks that dislike DM style have theirs
Like you say time will tell if it's popular
