Yessss! I imported an asteroid model from SpaceEngine and made it collided players and vehicles. However I should make some things to complete the map - caverns inside the asteroid, weightlessness in space and spacefighters vehicles. The last is a bit complicated, so beta version will have Raptor-mods instead of them (Phoenix, Falcon, Wasp and Aurora). Also it will be cool to make kill zone in space for players but not for vehicles. I.e. if player exit vehicle in space, it sould die.

Anyone remember a map with huge elevator that can lift up the tank and other vehicles? It should be on CEONSS. It have many nodes with one or two placed on mountain in the center, that can be accesseble using these elevator. I make elevators on my map, but them wont lift up vehiches - they always fall through elevator's floor. That map will give me a help...

If u want to make a gravity volume or a dead volume.
First enter the dimension of the red building block, it could be any size or form. Don't add, it is not neccesarry :

Than choose in volumes PhysicsVolume, not DefaultPhysics. It will remove when u rebuild your map:

Next, move ur red block and than u will see a white block, this is your volume:

Right click, and open properties where u can modify.

Snap some pics to show us how it's coming along, SpaceEngy, when you're done with the lighting; I'm getting curious with all this geometry talk! Btw, since most space themed maps are typically mostly scarce in terms of geometry, I think it'd be wrong not to let ppl explore what little there is on foot with impunity. Auto-killing ppl as soon as they exit their vehicles seems kind of excessive IMO and, besides, the game is called Unreal after all; realistic enviro consequences shouldn't be a priority over gameplay and fun, not when you have laser-wielding, mini-nuke armed anthropomorphic lizardmen and intelligent robots duking it out on platforms mysteriously suspended and held in formation in outer space anyway :).

Red team have the same ship. Space fighters don't work for now. Did anyone have a link to good tutorial on creating custom vehicles for UT2004?

Yeah, looks fantastic! I like the Earth/planet and the asteroid, most mappers only add some stars or so.

The ship reminds me at a borg probe from Star Trek :D

I tried to model ship by splitting and splitting regular brushes, but this is too complicated. And I read on forums that BSP geometry should not be too complex, it is good idea to use static meshes instead of brushes. For example, asteroid is a static mesh with 18000 polygons, and FPS in game is up to 300 (in waiting for players mode, then scripts and physics toggled off). So I should made a static mesh with textures in 3ds max, but I have very little experience there too.

The big problem is radar map. The ships have 6 nodes and core inside them, and since the map is very large, they merged on the radar map and even in node link setup editor. Maybe I should remove some nodes, but I want to have two nodes in two fighters docks, one node in cargo and one node in bridge - at least 4 nodes.

BTW, I start learming Unreal Script. I create a class for spacefighter, copy/paste Raptor code and replace its model with spacefighter model. It works! Now I will try replace physics and controls with spacefighter's, but this will be complicated - Raptor and SpaceFighters are very different vehicles, they have almost none similar functions in code that can be easy replaced.

So, I will make 3 new vehicles for this map, based on Human/Skaarj spacefighters models and Target painter's Bomber model. Who have an idea for names for them? Flying vehicles usually named as birds and other flying creatures. Maybe Kite, Hawk and Eagle? I would like to name redeemer armed bomber Dragon (as long as it already named Dragon in UT2004), but this name already used for Cicada mod... I will use these new vehicles on my next maps, and maybe someone will put them on their own maps...

This beta version of the map is already playable, so I would like to test it, find modelling/gamepleay issues, change geometry, before finish it by adding decorations and details. I can put in on Russian server called TykiTaki - it usually empty all time except someday evening, then we play championship there. But it may have bad ping for someone of your. You will try it:
