I have 10000 net speed.
Only for test, edit your ut2004.ini file and set [IpDrv.TcpNetDriver] settings called MaxClientRate to 10000. If game still lag, return your previous value.
It looks like your network packets scanned by some software or firewall. Try install "process explorer" (yes, microsoft), run it, plau UT online and next you can analyze network statictics for every process in graph.
PS: sorry of my pooooor english...

perhaps the singleplayer-test was the right trace.

I just played in SP and as i didn't do this for a long time - the performance totally blew my mind. I never would have thought, that online playing sucks so much of the performance! If i had this performance always... wow.

I tested 20 mins. No lags and graphic bugs, no crashes.

So what to try next now? I can't imagine, that bad UT-settings / files / bad server performance could lead to freezes and stuff?!

Hm...I'd suggest joining many different UT servers to see if the problem is connected to the server you are using. If you get the problem everywhere, it might be your internet connection....in that case, try other online games/multiplayer modes of other games to check for that. Also, you can run the task manager to see if there are any background applications running that also use up your internet.

First time appeared on CEONSS a month ago. Bad performance also appears on {New} and FA2K servers. Internet conn was bad from time to time but only on CEONSS. This was fixed by Heinz as CEONSS moved, and was supposably not a client-side-issue.

What does not get into my mind: How can a bad internet performance cause crashes and freezes? P/L and high ping, lags and abnormal behaviour of weapons and vehicles - hell yeah. But how can it freeze the game :eh: .

I will search for bad processes now.

Very old software called "NetLimiter 2 Pro" can help you to reveal ineligible network activity. I have version with serial NO, if you want.

I tried out the process explorer (had it installed some time before :)) and didn't find any noticable probs. I btw got a 50k conn, even if there were some processes sucking some kbits... whatever.

Have you tried restricting the number of cores UT can run on?
Your i5 is a multicore processor and UT is a single core game.

In task manager, right click UT2004.EXE, select "set affinity" and select just one CPU core from the list (untick the others). This may help (it helped with pauses on my i7 system).

UT ran very fine for nearly a year now. So that can't be the problem. The problem first appeared more than one month ago :bam:
