It'd be fair to say that GTA games are nowhere near as revered by PC gamers these days as they were a decade ago - and I certainly got plenty of relevant stories from my stint in the series' stunting scene back in the day to attest to that (note to self: maybe post something about that stuff in the future?) - whether one cares to attribute that to glaringly shoddy porting jobs (GTA IV), unfathomably delayed n' poorly supported releases compared to their console counterpart versions (GTA V and GTA Online), Rockstar's general apathy to making the entire roster of its best hits available on PC (still no RDR), or anything else.
Still, if there's one trait that continues to preserve some of that "GTA pedigree" luster, it's definitely the series' time-honoured quality of being majorly mod-friendly, and the latest installment is no exception in that regard, so here's some modding silliness to get your giggle on:
Vanessa Carlton could've made much more of a splash if she'd gone with this concept for her music video; aka "Wrecking my way downtown".
Turns out hulking masses of speeding metal is a surprisingly elegant way to get around. Who says no solution to traffic jams scales up well?
Moving on from GTA games to a neighbouring subject that still revolves around "fast", "metal" and "death", anyone ever wonder if that whole "incomprehensibly guttural Death Metal wailing" shtick might just be one massive, elaborateconspiracy prank to make us think it's a legitimate genre, while they're actually singing about silly stuff instead? YouTuber Metal Kitchen's submission below certainly doesn't help allay such concerns:
Lastly, even though I never set out looking for such candidates in the first place, or even care about Vine, I somehow still managed to pick the following as the best Vine video for 2015 (or, at least, my favourite) just by coming across it. Ladies n' gents, behold The Cheese of Truth!
Edit: YT version here, in case Vine doesn't play well on your setup.
Well, that's all I got for now. 'Till next time
.
PS: Although I believe that same, very impressive frag vid has been posted before on this msg. board (edit: found it; even got its own thread the first time 'round, too!), N4rkoT1k's post above does help once again illustrate a point I made 7 pages ago about this thread's focus on just "funny" vids perhaps being a bit too restrictive and potentially causing people to hesitate to post other kinds of awesome/interesting/noteworthy clips that they otherwise might've shared, simply because those didn't strictly meet the "funny" standard; kinda doubt anyone would bother making a third "videos bucket" type o' thread just to accommodate a different category of content, too. Originally, I figured I'd wait 'till the thread reached some decimal milestone (say, hitting 30 pages) before I made the suggestion to expand its scope by making its title a bit more encompassing, but I guess I might as well float it early n' see what people think, so here goes: how's about we rename this to "Funny, impressive or otherwise remarkable videos" or something to that effect?
