Time to link to videos elsewhere for this thread?

Will start looking for other video site plugins.
True enough. The way Big G has been handling YT over the last year or so feels like it's been almost purposely intended to rile people up, breed mistrust, resentment or even outright hostility from its user base. I mean, if it's not one thing (forcing G+ on YT comments, doing nothing about the toxic cesspool that YT comments have been for awhile), it's another (the MCN fiasco that exposed thousands of smaller producers without a big network to vouch for 'em [LPers, shorts animators, AMV editors, etc.] to Content ID butchering, looking the other way while egregious/fraudulent DMCA takedowns repeatedly silenced negative product reviews by blocking the videos, standing idle while game publishers [Sega, Capcom, Nintendo] moved in and forcefully monetized or simply stole that lunch money from small LPers and showcase players in a mind-blowing, entirely extralegal and illogical exercise in copyright maximalism, etc.). But hey, they got 4K and they're introducing 60fps support now too, so we're cool, right? Right? Anyone?

Meh, let the giant continue dieing the death by a thousand cuts, I say; it's not like anyone's in a position to take 'em head on at the moment, but, as a rule, it's the smaller creatures that tend to fare better and survive the radical climate changes :p. The way they've been going, I doubt there'll be many left to miss YT when it's finally gone either :/. As for other sites to embed video from and potential phpBB plugins to help with that, umm, well, there's always Vimeo, I suppose. A few other decently sized players out there too, but I can't remember 'em right now (not blip though). I suppose we can just add 'em one at a time based on how their popularity grows. Edit: Shit, I completely forgot about non-video-based music hosting services with their own embeddable players, like Bandcamp and SoundCloud. A Bandcamp player embedding phpBB plugin we'd be able to use for this thread would definitely be a worthwhile addition IMO.

Anyway, 'nuff with the ranting, on to some music!

Ready to rock out to some classic tunes played on cellos? What am I asking, of course you're not - nobody was. That's exactly how the 2CELLOS Serbian duo took the world by storm some 3 years ago though, and they've become an international hit ever since, getting signed up with a big label and touring/collabing with big names like Elton John and the RHCPs. Reason for that is pretty simple: you just don't expect two guys sitting down with big-ass wooden classical instruments to put on a show like they do. But guess again :).

"We got strings n' games."

Raising the most hair in a room since Tesla's live exhibition days...

Not so smooth on those poor bows (acting attempts are kinda silly too, but easily forgiven)...

Sick filth seeking to corrupt our internet youth!

Yepp, those two guys are impressive. But seriously, has no one ever heard of Apocalyptica? :D

They became famous with their rendition of "Nothing Else Matters". Here is a live video so you can see the band members sing. :D

"Hope", one of my all-time favorites.

Watch them headbang!

Gah, Simone Simmons is a really amazing singer (and beautiful), but that ugly male part they insert into every single song of theirs prevents me from listening to their music. I just can't stand that....whatever that guy is doing from 2:50 on.

Hey Ema....,
Actually best part is exactly that combination between Simone Simmons and that ugly male, Mark Jansen...It's like beauty and the beast... She sing like an angel, he scream like a demon. I guess Simone knows what she makes. Of course I respect your opinion and all it depends on each person.
BTW, ur song posted is :yippiiieh:

BTW, let's make a deal, stop killing me in UT and kill double Elect....Done?

This song is dedicated u and I hope u like more as the previous.

And because I love Elect, I will dedicate him a nice song too...: Special for Elect...

Hey Moo! Thanks for the song dedication! Sounds very nice! :D
Yes, I know that is part of their appeal...it just doesn't work on me. Sorry! xD

Glad you like that song! Within Temptation, Evanescence and Nightwish are all great bands, if you enjoy symphonic metal with strong female vocals.

Hehe, sounds like a good deal. Let's show Elect some love! :firedevil:

Now.....some more German music.

"Glasperlenspiel" became famous with this song a few years back:

Glasperlenspiel - Echt

Admittedly, their songs have a tendency to sound pretty similar, but they really get stuck in your head. I'm currently (happily) suffering from not getting this one out of my head:

Glasperlenspiel - Moment
