For our first foray into video game music this year, we turn to genius pianist Tom Brier. While Brier himself is a bit too old and way too busy to be a gamer himself - considering he's been a musical, sight-reading prodigy since he was 5 and he's usually cranking out or composing kickass ragtime tunes for his albums - fortunately for the gaming world, his friend is... and he's got a camera too! So, every once in a while when Tom kicks back and gets casual, his friend will slip him some popular gaming tune transcript downloaded from the web he's never seen before and he'll give it quite an impressive treatment by tickling the ivories. Take a look, those Super Mario Land/World scores never knew what hit 'em !
This particular rabbit hole runs a bit deep, but those looking for more can find a few dozen more of his VGM tunes here.
PS: Inb4 "dat neckbeard!".
