Einaudi? Don't you go symphonic on me!
Joe Hisaishi...
...and Jeremy Soule
Both modern composers, both creating music as a part of modern culture (Joe Hisaishi did great job on Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki movies, which could not be full without his music; Jeremy Soule is video game composer, and a founding father of tradition to add orchestral soundtrack to video games), and both have an outstanding quantity of tracks with an outstanding quality.
Also STOA, Cusco and Dead can Dance (search for it as a homework).

Hurts is a great band! Love both songs you have posted, Funky. Good choice!
I know I must have posted at least one or two of her songs before, but I want to post them again because sadly the amazingly talented Origa, a Russian singer famous for contributing to the soundtrack of the anime Ghost in the Shell and the game Final Fantasy XIII-2, passed away yesterday at the mere age of 44 after losing the battle against lung cancer. She had a beautiful voice and I could listen to her song "Inner Universe" with Japanese composer Kanno Yoko countless times.
Kanno Yoko ft. Origa - Inner Universe
Kanno Yoko ft. Origa - Rise
Origa - New Bodhum
Origa - Aurora

Everyone knows "Closing Time", but how about "Chemistry"?
