Stonewall used to be a CTF-map, it was also converted by VK with beta-status help by Kentaro and myself.

I know VK quite well and for some time now and I'm dead sure his offer still stands so feel free to add the maps you want to!
After all, he just wants to keep UT2004 alive as well. Adding new/old maps to the roster to attract more people should do that - even though I know many people consider the Sektors as very spammy and they can be, but one can't deny VK did a beautiful job on creating or converting them and there are alot of comeback chances on every one of them! OFC, it wouldn't hurt to let's say remove the Gravity Vortex... But on the Latest Version of S9 only a hand full of people can get to it anyway....
I am all for adding those and if it just doesnt work or it turns out as a bad move, you can always remove certain ones.

DeathDome's got my vote. Love that map.

Hey Heinz,

sure, i would ask the author first! But as far as i know VK i think he would like to see many servers with his maps in the map list :)

I love overtime, because it means: We balanced fuckin good. But i remember many matches on Death Dome that ended before overtime.

The only annoying thing on Death Dome perhaps is the mine-spam. It's funny, but it will give one team a "dominating the middle-platform"-position ;).

I strongly vote against DeathDome... it doesn't look good, it doesn't play good. and without major shifts in the balance a comeback is also extremely hard to achieve (despite spambox for example, which has similarities to this map) and what's the point of jumping onto a platform for 20mins or trying to get to the enemy base to kill the campers there, hoping you not get smashed by the manta whores who dont give a sh!t about nodes... we could rather add MassDestruction, it's basically the same spam...

S7 is good although many ppl somehow dont find the nodes, I don't know why...
S8 is also quite spammy but it's something entirely different than we have right now... just hard to get the turtle down!
S9... well... idk really... the latest version is kinda okay, less uber-spammy... but... still very chaotic! and since ppl usually dont see what nodes to isolate (as they cant see on simpe nodelayouts like maelstrom) it could get frustrating for some.... on the other hand: even the worst noobs get some kills here and this could be motivational to come back or tell their friends to join, which should improve the player number over time.

Stonewall is awesome and one of my fav. VK-maps, but another NV-map....

AgressiveAlleys - yes, but we would need to modify it I guess (put a wall in front of the entrance) to prevent spawnkilling with badger... or just remove the badger completely and replace it with... let's say.... jumpboots! in combination with the DD behind it, this could help alot to achieve a comeback.

TheCube is unfortunately still not very playable and I'm sad it isnt since I came up with the concept =/

i also vote for deathdome to be added.
Its very balanced usally and has some nice tactical points to win.
Its perfectly designed. Of all the spam maps, this is my favorite because the still tactical points.

Hey guys, :D

First of all, happy new year to everyone! That includes also the people who i don't liked in 2011. =)
There has been a discussion here about my maps here, i'm glad that someone miss them already...

I know that i writed on my out-dated personal homepage the sentence "feel free to use any of my maps".
But like i said before they are out-dated, so it includes only the old maps.

What about my updated and new maps? As far people who know me a bit well, i try, as many others, to keep the unreal community alive.
I expect 2012 will be a hard year to keep as just enough players for one server and if my hardly work can help with it, i say yes, ofcourse!

Because i am admin it doesnt change a thing on the way i think about it, use them and i hope u will like it.
If u need help, contact me for further chatting. ^^

Btw,
Glad to see u back Rotten, Thomato =) :p :D
Cheers,
Kenny

Hi Kenny, welcome to the forums!
Glad you made it here to post your agreement, thanks!
So we can talk further about which of your maps to be added. Could you update your maps homepage then if it's out-dated? Would be easier for us to chose ;-) Or is there another site to find the current versions? Probably LDG5? I'd join there then to have them in my cache :wormie:

Yeah, indeed. I wish there were still enough active players for at least 5 full ONS-servers... One little first step to keep UT2004 alive would be to sign the master server petition:

Thanks a lot for the link.
Right now, I have loaded Stonewall and Sektor8.
Sorry, wasn't able to check out all of the maps yet. Lack of time ATM. I'll do so soon enough.

I couldn't persuade myself to put DeathDome up again as it is yet. We have to discuss a better node layout at first. This choke node is bothering to death.

Stonewall is also from VK, though it's a conversion of a former CTF map and I don't know if he asked the original author for permission before editing it.
