Not sure if it's correct thread to post this, but I see a problem with current votign system.

Single map timeout is 25 matches, each match is roughly 30 minutes, so generally we can see same map every 25*30/60 ~= 12 hours, e.g. twice a day (and it's even less, because there is a player count gap 1-00 - 10-00 GMT).
Then, if the map is voted at 15-00 GMT of working day, it's usually not available till 3-00 GMT, and thus the evening players peak can not vote for this map and misses it at all. I've seen this couple of times during last two weeks when 5-8 online players vote for a big map (Stonewall, Volcano). Neither they enjoy it, nor it can be chosen by 20+ players later.

Is it possible to change voting system somehow? Maybe link it to players (or votes) count? E.g. the map is moved 5 points down the list for every 2 players online up to normal value of 25?

Manaic

I Missed this post but the only thing i can think of is an admin that is on during busy times just force vote the map.

I did it all the time on the DW server. :nono:

Kinda like a DJ spinning the right tune at the right time. :firedevil:

EDIT:

I would like to play Spankjox more often but almost every day when I join the server at 3PM or so, it is unavailable.

Cam we somehow do something about that? Really have a lot of fun playing the low gravity map.

We've experimented a great deal over the years with the map repeat rate and have tried lowing it down in the past, the result was a lot of unhappy people playing the same 5/6 maps over and over. This did (and would again) hurt the server so i'm not willing to do it, sorry. What dictates the map repeat rate is the number of very popular maps which is around 27/28 atm. We set it a little lower then that so there should always be one or two available at any time.

I think that 20 rotations is better than 30, playing a map twice a day can be great :)

As requested, the map pack has been updated. Link in the first post.

Also included just this once is the texture file PC_UrbanTex.utx because at least one of you had a file conflict issue. This files comes with the ECE bonus pack, so you only need to overwrite if you are having issues with this file.

If you have a file conflict, please let us know in this thread.
