Thanks to Anik and Alf for the heads up. UT2004 is currently available for only $5 over at GOG. If you're still playing the demo this is a great chance to pick up a cheap copy. Offer is only open for 24 hours so be quick!

As Cat said, this is a one-day-only affair and concludes at 12.59 GDT tomorrow, or just before 2pm German time (as per this article anyway). If any of you ever wanted to get an official copy of UT2004 and were perhaps also seeking to send Epic a clear message about what the proper way to do UT is (say, as opposed to the sensibilities of its slower, dudebro-styled sequel, UT3), here's your chance :).

Edit: in fact, considering this 60-80% off GOG sale's on for 150+ titles, this may well be the first such event I've ever seen that could seriously wrestle Valve out of its throne as the summer sales king and that's no mean feat.

I hope you're right Peg, the more competition the better. They're great for the older titles and indie games, possibly better then Valve.

Be advised, for the next ~24hrs GOG is doing a wrap-up roundup of all its summer sales so far, so once again, the 5 bucks UT2004 window is open for anyone interested until 2pm UK time tomorrow. Throw money at your screens for this or any other of their 150+ games on up to 85% off sale as needed; they're all DRM-free too.

I don't know if it's alright to post here again (thread is a few months old), but I once lost my copy of UT2004 and got it from the UK Amazon site. Even including shipping it was still very cheap. So anyone who missed the deal mentioned above can check it out.

(There is one extremely expensive version and this very cheap one, which I bought:

I've had it for a few years and it works fine, so no need to spend a lot of bucks on the expensive one.)

Soo, yeah, another big GOG sale for 600+ games in their catalogue is going on 'till Dec 29th and UT2004 ECE is down to €5 again. Just a heads-up if anyone's been looking to get a copy. Links to that already available in previous posts.

By the by, Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics are free to download, due to impending licensing changes starting next year that will permanently remove 'em from GOG's virtual stock. My guess is, Interplay's window for monetizing those titles has finally ran out and they'll now lapse back to Bethesda who'd bought the IP some time ago, so the old dev's like "fuck 'em, ppl can have it for free now if it'll prevent anyone giving cash to Beth as of 2014" - a sentiment I'd definitely understand. If you haven't played 'em, I wholeheartedly recommend the first 2 for some good, oldschool cRPG times during the holidays. 'Sides, it's GOG so they're likelier to be offered in a patched n' bug-free state too compared to several other previously available ways of getting 'em to run on XP/Win7.

Same thing happen with SimCity2000. Defiantly worth picking up some of these old games while you can. Abandonia is a good site for that.
