Hey everyone!

Xac and I have been talking about this a bit and wondered: Would anyone be interested in having a Real Life LAN party in celebration of 10 years of UT2004? :tada:

I was thinking that it would most likely happen in England or Germany, since they are fairly central/easily accessible and the biggest groups of players seem to live there. But what do you guys think? Where could you go?

Also, what time of the year would be good? (I'm trying to narrow it down to a month first and then to a certain date.)

If anyone knows a good place in his or her city, please raise your voice!

PS: Backup plan is to all crash at La Casa Del Pegasus. ;)

UPDATE:

If there aren't any objections, the location and date will be:

Hannover (Germany), Ema's house, 20.3.-23.3. 2014

(Voice objections LOUDLY if you have them. :D )

Airport name: Hannover Langenhagen (HAJ)
Station name: Hannover Hauptbahnhof (or Hannover Hbf)
Autobahn: A2 or A7 (several exits)

I'll probably have a car, so if you need to get picked up from the airport or main train station, let me know. You can also get to our house via public transportation, though.

Hmm, it'd be interested if it was in England as that simply requires me jumping on a train. Going to Germany could be fun though. Only problem for me would be transporting my rig as my current (new) one is quite a large beast, although I suppose I could bring the older one which easily ran UT2K4. Probably the most appropriate time would be the months after the University year finishes and on a weekend.

Regardless, that backup plan is the best plan and we should just do that.

Heck, if it is too troublesome, we can just have two: One in Germany and one in England. Don't have to be at the same time, either.

Haha! He's in Greece. Never been there, so a good opportunity now.... :D Plus it will be lovely in summer, I think.

This sounds awesome !, i am up for this :) but i have the same problem as dalyup, my rig is pretty big and rather heavy and i'm not sure how much it would cost for it to go to Germany or where ever it will be hosted, i could find out i guess. I should be able to attend the one in England though depending on the date.

Yes i have a laptop but there is no way i am playing UT on a laptop :| would prefer me rig. It shouldn't be a problem, it's just i don't know how much it would cost.

EDIT: but then again it would be a lot easier to bring my laptop, that^ sounds silly but i just really dislike gaming on them :|

That's rather troublesome just for getting it here for a weekend and then having it transported back....Maybe if we made it a week long event when we students are all on break, with our working friends coming over on the weekend.... ;)

Well, which cities would be good? For Germany I'd suggest Berlin, Hamburg or some other big city, for England probably London... :D

Depending on which type of transport i use, it wouldn't be a problem getting it to another country and then to the location, just the cost that might be the problem. Anyways i am down for this LAN so just let me know the details when whoever is organising this finds out.

Not sure on the location's, but where ever it's hosted we need at least one member to be familiar with that city/town.

When are you guys on break? In my case it would be February 19th to April 12th and July 19th to October 12th. Some time during the summer break, a bachelor thesis will need to be written....

If it's in Germany, I'll bring my computer and you can borrow it. I can take the laptop. Just bring your mouse and mousepad!

EDIT: This the point when I should mention I don't have a laptop.
