Vehicles, NV ONS, NV maps etc

Nothing much of a fuss, just a topic where one might express personal preferences  .

I 've read in the Airmars topic about the NV issue, something is told elsewhere about Slated, so I just felt like telling you about which maps I consider true hardcore ONS: Pretty simple for me, Arctic is topnotch regarding intensity, vehicle adequacy, speed and overall gameplay, Crossfire is OK too, I even like good ole Severance.

Many more maps. Maps with abundance of classic vehicles, absence of crazily-overpowered-network-favoured flying objects and most important: "proper' distances to cover regarding scale and proportion.

OTOH Airmars, Slated and generally maps without enough ground-battlefield don't do the thing for me. This of course does not stop me to occasionally enjoy some games in those maps in CEONSS, still I would not count them as True-ONS-Vehicalz-skillz0r-maps...

So, vehicles is a yes for me, not any vehicles though and not anywhere :yoman: .

I only wanted Airmars back, because I enjoyed it even though that it didn't make much sense. :D On the other hand I think it had more sense than those zombie maps where you can't move anywhere because the map is crowded and spammed.

Yes, the true hardcore ONS maps are the official ones, such as Torlan, ArcticStronghold etc..

Pure NV maps aren't ONS, they are DM maps with nodes.

I also prefer the stock vehicles not those which are armed with overpowered weapons and can take out everything in a 20m radius. It's just that the stock maps are very well designed and they are spacious and they aren't insanely big, making infantry efficient.

I really like Slated, but only for an occasional play as its a different "style" from most ONS. The insanely overpowered aerial vehicles actually make sense on that map.

I would regard Slatey as an aerial-themed Minus, although the action there is quite the opposite as in the latter one, intense dogfights and tough matches...I like it, but I'm a fish out of water as regards aerial warfare.

AirMars is a different thing. I don't like it, mainly because it's entirely composed of Raptors and Cicadas (and Mantas?), and it resembles an ONS version of DM-Gael, a complete spambox.

As of Pull0$ "purity" on ONS matches, yeah, a custom map doesn't feel the same as an official one, but when you've played them a thousand times, you soon get tired of them. Torlan is my favourite one, but Dawn is interesting too, a sort of a mix between Torlan and Artic (although I hardly played Artic because I used to lose when I was younger). Frostbite is also intense, specially with the Arkon Weapons Mutator ;D
