Removal of MinusTankMeUp

I have played this map quite many times and the general feedback of this map is that it is just bad. I also think that it is terrible.
First it is way too big. The vehicles are distributed in a rather bad way. Knowing that the vehicles are very powerful, they can actually take out other vehicles with one or two shots. It is rather frustrating if the vehicle is slow and you want to reach a point which is quite far and then something out of your line of sight spots you and then takes you out and you had no chance to fight back. Hurricane is very unbalanced on this map. Its secondary fire can deal vast amount of damage and because those rockets lock the target, it can be very hard to locate the Hurricane because the map is very open and they can freely spam those rockets without being detected. The map is also very dark and makes certain vehicles rather hard to spot if the vehicle is far enough.
I think it wouldn't hurt if the map was gone for good.

It's not long been added to the roster so i can't see it being removed anytime soon, unless a vast majority of players dislike it, too. I don't know the reason for it being removed last time it was on the sever, but It's a popular and well known map in ONS. It appeals to people because of it's unique vehicles, regardless of their issues. I havn't played this in a long time and still havn't since it's been added again, so i can't say much about the points you've raised.

I liked it at first, because of Hurricane. It's quite rare on maps and I like that vehicle, but liking one vehicle won't make me like the entire map.
Today when I played that map, there were quite many negative feedbacks about the map.

Personally I love it. I think its the node layout I like the best about it. A good mino team can really do well also.
If you get good at the flying tanks you can dominate on the map. There is your challenge.

Sorry Joe, I completely agree with Pet, I hate it. However it does have a few things going for it which is why it's back on the roster.
First off as Monk said it's popular. 9 times out of 10 the number of players on the server rises compared to the map before, in fact since being put back on it's been the most voted for map, even out doing BitchSlap. It's quite a slow map and does offer a welcome change of pace after playing Bitchslap, Stonewall, Bridge and all the other finger bleeding maps for an hour or two. The roster has very few out and out "tank" maps and we try to cater to all types of players.
One final point is that I would take feedback with a pinch of salt. On the server (as in life) it is normally a noisy unhappy minority who are the first voice their displeasure. People who are happy or content with the map tend to say nothing.
There are 89 maps plus a space for a zombie map and everyone gets one vote. If people keep voting for mtmu it would be rather dictatorial of me to remove it to stop that. If I was going to be a dictator we would go back to the rolling standard maps with 1-3-1 link setup, and hands up here who wants to see that

I'm afraid that'll be staying on the roster for a good while yet
All I can suggest is to do what I do when it is on and play a little different. Try and go down the sides of the map and the quiet roads to get around the big
ego's tanks and give them something else to think about. With a bit of luck you can give your team a little time to build a node or help out taking the tanks out, they can only fire one way after all. Try and dominate the centre ground and always be ready attack the next node as this map can change very quickly, especially nodes 8 and 9.

You are right, however not only that it has bad design, but it has rather serious flaws, such as the Centaur's turret behaves in a very weird way if the player goes under a bridge. However I think that some of the custom vehicles should be employed more. Maybe that'll make other maps more popular.

That map is awesome! End of story.
Petya i don't get it. when we play a DM map, you get angry that it's not an ons map(bitchlap, maelstrom, bridge...). MTMU is a real ons map, all about tanks. it's been around for quite some time, and people still love it. what's wrong with the layout? it's awesome. there are many routes to choose from, if the enemy is controlling the area with a mino, you can use the cover of the buildings to get around it or to get close to it.

I have never said that Maelstorm is a DM map. It's a quite good. I still think that BitchSlap and Bridge are abominations, but it is an irrevelant information at the moment.
And why don't you get it? No offense, but I think I have said my reasons in an understandable way.

It has quite many glitches and backstabbing with a one-hit-kill vehicle can be rather frustrating, especially if you've been driving to that specific location for long minutes. And Hurricane dominates the map. I have never actually experienced that Minotaurs can be fallen victims to other targets so easily.

I personally also despise this map mainly because of the hideously powerful vehicles. I don't like maps (and in games in general) that offer very little counterplay. As Petya says, if they see you and hit you first then you're practically dead which, I believe, can promote defensive camping. That being said, it does encourage players to work together to collaborate in storming nodes: you can't really play alone and do clever little things to take down nodes and progress through the map. I think that can be good but I don't like being practically forced to play that way (which is what the Omnipotents server feels like to me).
It's a really popular map though so fair enough to keep it on for those who like it.

I also realized that teamworking can do wonders on this maps, but teamworking in a public game never really works.

There are ppl who will play like that, but I think the majority won't care about the teamwork.
