ONS-MyRoom_v2

Post by Cat1981England »

ONS-MyRoom

This started off as an edit of an old map we use to have here, ONS-MyRoom_v1_53, with the aim of simply removing the core to core spamming.

We got a little carried away and now the only thing left are the walls and radiator, both of which have been retextured.

There's still one or two things left to do. I would like to add a low ground friction volume to the light to stop people camping up there, change the image on the computer screen and have a clean up, but it's basically ready for a final edit.

Feedback is welcome.

Can't say much. Maybe about the node setup:
-I think node 1 is located too near to 3 and 4,but then I also think that 3 and 4 are located kind of near to 6 and 5. Maybe relocating them halfway would be a nice idea.
-To make things more interesting, I suggest to link node 1 and 2

And heck, the original seem to be very stupid in terms of node linking.

The new walls texture is a bit weird, but it blends in this edit of this map very nicely.
Good job on this one, me thinks it's best what can be done without changing literally everything.

Good work, very impressive. I've only played it once and my only complaint was that it wasn't obvious how to get to the far wardrobe nodes on foot (if that's even possible). Perhaps an indicator to the portal (presuming it exists) or even a sign over the portals to where they go may be helpful.

ONS-MyRoom_v2_05_C is now on the server. All the bug fixes and minor gameplay changes that have been raised over the last week have been fixed, also fps is up about 10/20% in selected areas - so I consider this the final edit.

To get to the wardrobe nodes on foot you simply use either one of the two teleporters at the base. On v2_04_testrun we used the same ones that you use to get up into the cabinet on MasterBath. I've changed the lighting and emitters so they should be a bit more obvious.

ONS-MyRoom_v2_07_C

- Map size reduced by half.
- 2 new jumpads from couch and coffee table primaries.
- All nodes have had their Paladin type shields removed.
- A ship and airplane static meshes have been added to provide cover for two of the nodes.
- The centre (rail tank) node now has the same health and build time as the centre node on Masterbath (2000 health, 10 second build time).
- Cores can no longer be attacked from distance.

Just like on the old map (and other maps with 3 links to cores), players need to keep an eye on the mini map because the match can be over very quickly if you're not paying attention.
