Oh yeah, motherfucker, Youtube embed code now added! ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!
Edit: Umm, boss? Can I have a look at that YT embed php code for a sec? Why does it need to add a freakin iframe (with weird aspect ratio no less) for every single YT vid in one's post? Why not simply add an object element instead? Was that the only flash vid embedding solution for phpbb available? Seems kinda excessive, perhaps even a potential vulnerability :/.

It's the way I wanted it - you not satisfied??? Which kind of vulnerability are you speaking of?
Re: MusicBox
Uhh, why would you want to introduce so much additional clutter to your thread pages and do so for every single desired vid embed no less? The extra iframe requires its own additional support files - like css, javascript, images and so forth - that need to be fetched from YT's resource servers plus you got its own DOM tree to load, set up and deal with as well aside from the flash object that's still there. For many vids per msg board page, all that stuff would add up and bloat browsers' memory for no good reason (although the extra files would work off of cache and need downloaded only once, but still). Lastly, with that being some other website's content you're directly allowing to appear on your own pages, you're yielding control over to content that could in time change both in terms of looks as well as functionality, making the resulting experience for your users here unpredictable and potentially jarring. Just to be clear, these being YT iframes, I wasn't implying you were opening members up to any kinda security threat per se, if that's what you were unclear about (although I don't quite keep my finger on the pulse of the latest cross-site linking exploits around the internet or anything like that so I couldn't guarantee you that it's 100% safe), but I think it still pays to maintain direct control of as much of the content on your site as you can unless doing the contrary proves necessary. As a quick visit to any site featuring YT vids could attest to, when it comes to embedding such content, that does not need be the case.laboRHEinz wrote:[...]It's the way I wanted it - you not satisfied??? As far as the tutorial vid you linked to, yes, that last BBc example demonstrated would be a much better and practical way to have YT vids embedded in the msg board's threads. I could suggest a couple o' tweaks to the code to ensure even better functionality (like making sure there's a fullscreen button to the vids) and YT url parsing reliability experience (ignoring other extraneous php arguments following the vidID one), but let's take things one step at a time for now.

Time to revisit the evergreen VGM turf for some sweet electronic tunes, courtesy of Module and his award-winning soundtrack for Shatter (a brilliant little stylish, physics-based arcade game for consoles and PC and probably the best Arcanoid clone out there by kiwi dev Sidhe).
For the skeptics, here's a small sample of quality from the game's trailer to show you what kinda music we're talking about:
I've been listening and collecting VGM for over a decade and this one easily ranks among the top 3 of my all-time favourite soundtracks! Anyway, all those convinced can proceed to enjoy the whole OST over at bandcamp because none of the YT playlists I found had the tracks in proper order and in HD quality... fokn amateurs :@. The rest of you, feel free to hang your heads in shame or share something better with us
.
PS: Headphones definitely recommended.
2017 edit: Bandcamp embedding at last!

Up until they got signed up to a major record company this summer (booo, sellouts!!1) Goldfish have been a very successful duo of South African musicians that have toured and played pretty much in every major club around the world over the past 4 years. Doesn't hurt that their electro-jazz/dance fusion tunes are pretty easy on the ears (dat sweet sax), nor that their nerdy, surreal animated music vids are pretty cool works of art in their own right. Here's one of their (IMO) best songs to see what I mean:
If you dug that, here's 3 more just as good (or better):
Fort Knox
Soundtracks and Comebacks
We Come Together <- 8-bit gaming references galore!
#5: Washing Over Me
