Haha, don't like playing on a laptop...sometimes you don't get a choice!

With a USB keyboard it's bearable, although for some reason I have yet to sort out, it won't run UT full screen.

I'm using a cheap i3 laptop with integrated graphics and it's not too bad. UT is an old game and was designed to run on kit 10 years ago.

If held in Germany I would drive over, so could give a couple of people a lift. Likewise if held in the UK, if they are not too far away I can help out with transport.

If it stays with the 4 people who have expressed interest so far, we could even do the LAN party in my apartment in Berlin.
If it's 10-12 people, we could possibly do it at my parents' house in Hannover (North Germany), but I would need to organize this with them and send them on that spa weekend they still have a voucher for....

I can bring a couple of PCs with me for people to use.

For the guys coming from England....wouldn't one weekend be too short? Just factor in the time you'll be driving... 12 hours according to Google Maps from where Xac lives to Hannover, plus breaks... and some of the streets have tolls. If you're really gonna drive, how about making it an extended weekend? Or for you, Xac, consider taking the following day off to recuperate. That will be rather exhausting.:(

Yeah didn't think of that, maybe a week would be better but it depends on everybody's schedule. It's 500 miles from London to Hannover and if you average 70mph (unlikely in our case) then it would take around 7-8 hours, still a long drive :)

Even for those flying in (if there's anyone...) it would be a long time traveling for a few hours of gameplay....Having one or two more days would already mean a lot.

So it depend on
1) people's schedules
2) the location and if it will be cheap (someone's house as the cheapest option, but is that possible for potentially up to a week?)

Guess I have to gather more people here and see what they'll think.

The thought of you trying to head shot people with a track pad amuses me!

We'll also need to think about having a LAN hub with a decent no. of connections, cables etc...

Should we wait until March16th? That's when the 10th anniversary of it's launch will be.

Well I don't really have a life atm and I live right on the border with Germany. So would it be in Germany and would I be able to afford the train ticket I would be very interested indeed. Lan parties rock.

Lots of woulds and shoulds I know but you never know.
