On mine and Vk's behalf I want to put up sector(any of them please state) it's really cool but why was it taken off? Dose anyone know?
I remember that Peg (I think) mentioned some technical issues with that map, something about server crashes... But I might be confusing it with something else.
There has been a weird file dependency issue that's been making Sektor8 (don't remember if it pertains exclusively to V3 or both it and V4) unsuitable to host in terms of server stability. I haven't begun looking into it further to attempt a fix, but Heinz should be able to provide further info about that one if anyone's wondering.
Sektor9 has been summarily rejected as offering substandard quality gameplay (read spammy), what with its combo of very restrictive geometry, splash damage-centric custom vecs and a vortex superweap to top things off; tbqh, if ppl are asking for its return, I seriously gotta question their sense of nostalgia (or memory) :s. Sektor7 was comprised mainly of long corridors with unobstructed views where the custom vecs would usually 1-shot peds, and anyone not equipped with one of the better relics (strength, guns or speed; maybe invisibility on a pinch) wouldn't really last long against aforementioned vecs or sniping from a distance. There was a whole, vast "lower deck" area that saw scant use as well as a top, standalone, countdown node (that could even damage the cores depending on the version), but neither helped stave off the almost always assured overtime match conclusions. Overall, despite S7 undergoing various changes along its different edits, it ended up too unremarkable to even defend its roster placement.
Just some extra insight there for anyone wondering where the Sektor maps had disappeared to and why.
