names Paul, 42 (Jeez where did them years go), and live not far from Liverpool in the UK
Didn't like school much and after having a crappy job for 6 or 7 years decided to go to college then onto university as a mature student (mature! me ?? haha) Anyway graduated in 2001 with an honours degree in Software Engineering and have been a programmer since.
As with probably most of the other older folk here I played doom, quake and unreal then UT'99. Stated playing this game online in 2008, and on and off till 2010 just played death match. Even managed to win a couple of matches until the better players showed up.
Played UT3 for a bit, picked this nickname and have kept it ever since. So after coming back to 2K4, I eventually tried ONS. Mainly because death match was getting boring as players would turn up and empty the server by decimating everyone. So I thought well at least I've got 50% chance of being on the winning team. To be honest though now, so long as its a fair and balanced match then I'm happy just to play.
I'm probably more of a foot soldier than driver/pilot so you won't see me finding strategic spots, setting up the picnic basket, and blowing the sh*t out of everything and everyone. I'll let others do that because it ain't my style of play. On the receiving end of it however, its kind of cool being the underdog if I can take out the standard vehicles, whilst staying alive long enough to keep dodging the return fire but I don't like the maps with insanely overpowered vehicles because one shot deaths get ridiculously silly. Doesn't matter if your in a vehicle or on foot so it definitely spoils the fun for me.
I'm certainly nowhere near as good a player as most of you people, so if I manage to hit you with the shock or lightning and maybe make you miss once or twice before you kill me then I don't mind. Ha even being head shot, I'd prefer that than just evaporated with the ion or nuked into oblivion from someone on the other side of the map that I can't even see.
Oh and manta pancaked by the usual suspects. Haha I'm sure you know who you are

Although the NV maps can seem like team death match, and not to everyone’s liking, these are tonnes of fun for me and provide good practice for increasing aiming skills and spacial awareness. You either get better or you just get dead. Haha but please don't mini gun me from the other side of the arena. Grrrrr

Well that's about it.
Major thanks to laboRHEinz for running the server, the admin dudes for their time, and you players for keeping the great game alive

Take care and keep well
Paul
