If you have problem detect problem with NetLimiter, try:
1) play UT under newly created windows user
2) reinstall OS - this is last option

Hello good afternoon ,

Rotten want to do away with these problems ? purchase a disk ssd for the operating system , I bought a samsung ssd 256 GB evolution , because it had these same problems you have. Now my pc works very fast , and I have a I7 , I also started having problems a moment's notice and did not know what to do , and then when torrents had to work was even worse .

At this moment I open firefox windows 20 and 20 on internet explorer at the same time and ut Gaming 2004 while D : because evolution samsung has a system that always increases the memory ( over provisioning ) on my computer because I only have 3 GB of memory Rams ( when I bought my computer in 2010 was still a novelty , and it was very expensive )

You can make a clone of the operating system disk with Acronis True Image Home , so no need to install new operating system .

I have a 256GB ( c ) , 500GB HDD ( d ) , HDD 1000GB ( e) ssd . You can install games in hdd , what matters is that the operating system is on the ssd .

Sorry for my bad English D :

Hey Rotts,

Quick look at your system spec shows it's almost certainly not a hardware problem in the PC (your spec can run UT with ease), it is always useful to make sure that UT runs on a single core only. change the UT target commend line to this

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start "" /affinity 04 "C:\UT2004\System\UT2004.exe"

That will force single core usage

More often than not lags and freezes are network related, try restarting your router or modem before any gaming and also either restart the PC afterwards or disable / enable the network adaptor.

Other possible causes are overly aggressive firewall or anti-virus protection. enable game mode on AV and make sure your router / modem firewall is either disabled or the correct ports are opened for UT

I got similar lags an occasional freezes and it turned out to be the DNS caching on my modem causing a lot of it.

Hey,

i played the last weeks with more or less lags, sometimes i got slight freezes and graphics bugs. Today again it grew massive; 5(!) secs lags on mapjoin, while the others on bitchslap already built the primaries, i was stuck in base. Then again 1-2 secs-lags when some players joined.

WHAT THE FUCK? This is still only on Ceonss. I am close to giving up.

BTW: The hint with the affinity didnt work, did i do sth wrong?

How to exactly change the "target" line in the shortcut of UT2004?

I got "D:\Games\UT2004\System\UT2004.exe" there. To change into what?

But i don't think it will work out, as before it always ran fine.

Thx and greets
