Most of the BSP surfaces have their lightmap (for rendering shadows) resolution set to 256, never see that, usualy it's 32 for normal map (may be not good for performances) i try to fix it but it cause BSB Cuts at one point in the hangar which contain a zone portal...

I haven't had a problem with this map regarding performance. There's dips, but totally playable.

the author made her gently and beautifully detailed, and with more emphasis on the shield-jumping and double jumps, thereby adjusting the map to key features Unreal, peculiar only to him. so carefully worked and optimized out maps ,it is very rare!
such a rarity should be protected, because it makes the game more beautiful and pleasant, and a good game increases online on the server and his reputation, I know this from years of experience and with me will agree all.
this is a great map for 12 players and for fans of "trials" (from ASsault)

I don't know about "gently and beautifully detailed" (now I'm wondering whether Crusha kept lovingly looking into its eyes while editing the map and serenading it to sleep with the dulcet tones of his poetry and singing every night :s...) or "carefully worked and optimized", but if you're interested in actually understanding why Rail was removed from the roster, I'd recommend simply looking through the previous pages of this very thread, especially page 3 and the ingame feedback collated in this post, to find out more.
Truth of the matter here is that, instead of making the game "more beautiful and pleasant", Rail often exhibited performance (both CPU-related client-side and net-optimization server-side ones) as well as gameplay issues (its linear nature delivered a pretty monotonous and spammy playstyle as a result, numerous st.meshes hindered dueling more than added to it, etc.) that were far from unnoticeable. Unfortunately, the solution to some of those issues that Crusha tried with the underground tunnels network in his last edit weren't sufficient (or useful) enough to change the situation, thus Rail kept losing ground in comparison to other, more DM-oriented maps, like Bridge, VK's-Playground, Maelstrom, Katharos, Foundry, SpankJox and others - hell, even Stonewall, which also lost its "tenured" status, wasn't as problematic, even if it didn't look as good and detailed as Rail.

Point of all this is, while Rail can deliver fun and challenge for the right crowd and at the right times, it usually didn't, and beyond a certain point, even if some people loved it dearly, that reality was something we had to acknowledge and act on. Thus, Rail can now be revived through the use of the Necronomicon Zombie Map system.
Eyes in the skies.

In my opinion these spammy maps are more popular than the nicely detailed real ONS map which has bigger fun factor in my opinion and I'm starting not to support these maps, because the server has maps which I haven't played at all and playing on the same maps every time can make the game very monoton.
I even wager to say that I wouldn't mind if the admins decided to remove the spam-centered maps, but knowing that these are the most popular it will never happen.
To tell the truth I don't really demand new maps, because there are still tons of maps I haven't had the pleasure to try.
