camera mount while snowboarding

Post by 7homasito »

Hey guys!

I'm going to snowboard in january with some friends and will use one of those small action-cameras for the first time... So in case any of you guys have experience with this - what's way to mount it? I have a a helmet mount, a chest mount and a wrist mount and could also mount it on the board itself - but I guess the latter would be stupid since it would be covered in powder quite quickly. since the upper body position is also twisted, a chest mount wouldn't deliver a view in driving direction although the FOV is adjustable to 170°.
So I guess helmet mount or wrist mount - what's your opinion?

Take the Camera on your Helm. Its the best Position i mean, because it recordet what you see. ;)

So then happy Snowboarding ... And please come back in one Piece. :)

I really recommend trying to position it on the skies themself with some sort of mount. Not on your helmet.
The helmet will make it far to shaky.
Yes, i have experience in action cams.

but borg, not SKIES, a snowboard ;)
and you must know I mostly ride offtrack in deep powder, hence I doubt much one would see much except lots of white and ultimately black cause the lense is totally covered in snow ^^

thx anyways. and liz - ofc I will, I haven't had an ski/snowboard-accident in 22years I've ridden so far... it might be more dangerous at home with all those scissors and knives and electrical devices :ghehe:

Oh sorry for misreading. Surely you could make a mount wich places the cam a bit higher?
Point is, your had will probaly vibrate if not shake to much to get a nice video, even when throwing stabilisation on it.
