may i give some of my custom maaps 4 u to put on the server if you may i edited torlan to have the ceonss custom vehicles

In general yes, map suggestions are welcome here and you may send me a download link (or try to send it zipped to the email addy adminsATceonss.net; I'll have a look at it then. Regarding the custom vehicles, I will be very careful because most of the server regulars prefer classic vehicles and consider the custom ones to be spammy and unbalanced. It's a matter of the servers intention: some servers have a lot of maps with custom vehicles included but the focus at CEONSS will stay on classic maps / vehicles. Maps with custom vehicles will be kept at a minimum.

Hey all,

It came to my attention yesterday while playing Spiff that we have the older T32 version on roster, which has several gameplay flaws like limited ammo and a more exposed primary for the reds. I'd like to propose adopting the more, shall we say, battle-hardened, improved version that Crusha K. Crocface tweaked which fixed those issues and offers each team an ion painter as well (can help a bit with comebacks too), if a) he's obviously asked and is okay with that and b) there are no problems running the same version of a map as TechCom, as I get the feeling that if such a thing were to happen, it'd be fulfilling the last sign of the Apocalypse or, worse, crab people would come up to rule us with a pincery fist.

Any comments/supporters?

sorry for late replying; was waiting a bit for some more comments, but obviously, nobody wants to ;-)
You're right, especially the limited ammo is a bit annoying. Gonna ask Crusha whether or not he minds using his tweaked version. I'd understand it if he would: He made it for TechCom and I'd respect that. We'll see.
But anyway, I always try to keep the map roster different to TechComs. I think we all don't want to have similar servers; thus I try to focus on different maps - as everybody can easily see when comparing the map rosters.

yeah I know it's been a little problem since the server was replaced few weeks ago. Didn't find a solution yet, though it's easy to get around: just klick on the tab "Map name" and the maps will be shown in alphabetical order again.

Hey,

there are some Maps i really miss on CEONSS. They have been on Techcom, and when i just went through my maplist, i thought: "Damn, didnt play them for a long time".

CEONSS was the first European ONS-server to play DeathDome again in the recent times i.e. during the last 2 years (don't know exactly where it was available from 2004 to let's say 2008). I found it on Death Warrant and due to the fact that no other EUR ONS-server had it, I added it. Then iTS got it and since it was played over there very, very often, I dropped it in order to have a better map variety between the servers. Now, do we all want it back? I doubt it because there are some issues, mainly the choke node. With 20+ players along with CEONSS' PPH-balancer, this map almost always goes into overtime, no matter what players do. That's a bit annoying IMHO, ain't it? Furthermore, this map is always stiffed with snipers, mines and avril campers. And the manta whoring, uuhhuuu, the manta whoring....

Those were on Techcom, indeed. I did not add them yet because I wanted a difference between CEONSS' and TCs' map rosters, as well. Alright, TC is not reactivated as it was and it seems to stay this way. So the facts changed and we could consider using these maps now. But I do strictly respect intellectual property. If there's a mapper out there not wanting his / her maps to be played on CEONSS, I will not use them. VK edited AggressiveAlleys and is the author of Sektor8, so we would have to ask him at first. He once offered me to use any of his maps and on his site he posted "Feel free to use any of these maps.". But who knows, maybe he could have changed his mind since he's admin at LDG now. A couple of months ago, he gave me kind permission to use his Playground, that's why it's up. But I'd feel much better if he renews his offer now.
Anyone knows the author / editor of Stonewall? I'd like to have permission to use it, too.

Uuhmm, the intention of SpankJox was to replace SpaceJox. They are way too similar, regarding the gameplay. Having both maps would be like having ArcticStronghold AND its T32-version. Besides, they both are NV maps and we shouldn't have too many of them. It's an ONS-server hence should provide ONS-gameplay. We already have quite a lot of NV maps like Foundry, Maelstrom-NV, SpankJox, Bridge, Playground, Grendelkeep, Colossus... Take a look at Omni and Death Warrant and please count the NV maps over there ;-)
