Yoooooooo,
I've been playing on CEONSS for a while now and I really like the community, so I thought, why not register? So I did. Evidently.
A bit about me:
I've been playing UT2K4 since I was 13, quickly loving the ONS gamemode and joining an ONS/TAM clan called Parasite Lost (which morphed into Appleseed) where I stayed until it disintegrated some years ago. I've been playing on-and-off since then (more consistently lately); it's the second longest game I've continously kept playing and I've yet to play any game like it. I'm really glad that CEONSS exists: the number and variety of maps make it constantly fun, and suit a lot of play-styles, especially my own dodge-about-everywhere-yet-still-get-hit-by-rockets-in-the-face style.
In da real lifes, I'm a Scottish 21-year-old who recently graduated from University and who is now lazily searching for a job whilst in the midst of a mild existential crisis.
Also, random question, how long has this server been around? I swear I remember seeing its name around 5 years ago.

Hey Dally!
Met you yesterday (good games!). Welcome to the board!
Wow, you started playing even before I did (I was 14...). But I'm slightly older than you.
I agree with you. I get tired of most games easily, but for some reason not with UT2004. It's really fun, even after many years. And I really like the regulars at CEONSS. They add even more fun to the game.
CEONSS has been around for at least 3 years, so it could be!
See you in-game!
Eman

Yo Dally!
Slangy to you!
Good to see you last night...you played well.
I know exactly how you feel. I've played a lot of FPS type games over the years, but only UT2K4 has the playability to make me keep wanting more. It's got so much to offer on so many levels...It gets very addictive...
The ONS format is great too, you might be a great DM player, but unless you take a risk and put yourself in danger and work as a team to build nodes...you lose!
They tried to improve on it with UT3, but failed miserably!
I've been playing on CEONSS for at least the last 4 years, so it's been around for a while...
See you in game.

PS...Eman, now you're only the 3rd youngest on the forum!!!

Indeed, that's what attracts me to it (and objective-based game modes in general). It requires much more teamwork than straight TDM/TAM to win effectively, but comes with the added benefit that you can go lone wolf and still be useful to the team by destroying/protecting nodes. You sort of naturally work together just by going for the same node. Games I've played have since have yet to emulate that as well UT2K4 has done, although the Battlefield series has come close.Xac wrote: The ONS format is great too, you might be a great DM player, but unless you take a risk and put yourself in danger and work as a team to build nodes...you lose!
Oh, if you two even try...Anik wrote:Hello Dalyyyy !

I did think of doing that initially but I soon realised that I don't really have the work ethic nor a clear vision of what I want to do. Besides, probably wouldn't be that useful in the long run since I'd rather steer clear of academia. The impression it left on me at Uni was that it tended to be saturated with troublesome politics and that's just ew. Although, it would be cool to have that title.Xac wrote: Easy solution, stay on and do a PhD...everyone has degrees nowadays, so get people to call you Doc Dalyup!
