Hi all.

Otherdays Petya suggested me to remake one beautifull CTF map to ONS type.

Remake and original version have no any lags as i noticed.

Map is turned out very beautfull and balanced. If you have some suggestions, ideas then write me here or PM :)

Wow nicely done. It has quite many nodes, but it isn't a problem. :D Fun to play on it. Maybe the map needs a little customization, but that's all.

Once again, thank you Sedoy for taking the time to create something for us  I have to ask though, have either of you asked Scarface if you could edit this? I believe he is still some-what active even though he's working on TOXIKK at the moment.

I hate giving good people bad news, but there are one or two other issues.

The primary nodes are both overlooked by the cores and the cores themselves are very hard to attack. If this did go on the server in its current form, it would go into overtime every single time it is played. Also some of the plants have their cull distance set too low and pop in and out of view.

The biggest reason why this can't go on is the performance. This map in its CTF form is notorious for having poor performance, and that's with 16 players and no nodes. If we put this on it would be unplayable for the majority of players. To give you some comparisons, on Torlan (which I use as a performance gauge) I get a minimum of 180 fps, on AbandonedCity I get a minimum of 98fps, on this map I get a minimum 38fps, all with no bots. I suspect it would have equally poor net performance.

I'm very sorry Sedoy, but this can't go on. I'll go even further and suggest abandoning it altogether rather then wasting any more time on it. To even get a chance of getting on the server the performance would need to quadruple, and I can't see how anyone could get that out of this map. That's before we even start looking at gameplay.

Sorry.

Hey Cat, i am glad that you replied me. And i am sorry i really forgot to ask Scarface. I am not very disappointed actually. And i don't insist to continue editing this map. It was just experiment, suggestion. All time that i spent to it is one day only.

Good to hear

We don't have any official policy regarding permissions and map edits, half the time you can't get in contact with the original author, I just personally consider it politeness ;)
